How do I get started with SmartThings?
You will need a SmartThings Hub or a compatible device with SmartThings Hub functionality. You will also need some connected devices and the free SmartThings App for Android or iPhone.

You can connect hundreds of individual devices at any one time to a SmartThings Hub (or a compatible device with SmartThings Hub functionality), so you never need to worry about having too many smart devices in your home.
Does SmartThings work with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant?
Does SmartThings work with Apple HomeKit or Wink?
No. Apple HomeKit and Wink only work with their own apps, but many smart devices compatible with Apple HomeKit and Wink are also compatible with SmartThings.
Do I need to pay a monthly subscription to use SmartThings?
No. SmartThings is completely free to use. Additional premium services may be available through the SmartThings app, but these are completely optional.
